Hello Family & Friends

Well today is Wednesday and there is nothing new on this end. It is a little cooler today and that is the calm before the storm or so they say. I guess the big rains are expected in the next week or so. We shall see. We ordered a couch today and have picked out some other appliances that we want for our home when it is finished. That helps the time go by a little faster. Nothing new on the house building as things are on hold until the next group of subcontractors come through. I made beef and broccoli stir fry tonight and it was really good. It is fun cooking for Mike and his ma because they are willing to try almost anything!

Here are some little cards/altered items I have made this past week. I hope the quality of the items comes out. The first is a coaster cover for post-it notes, some altered composition books and some mini-greeting cards as well as a purse card for a little girls b-day coming up. What a fun way to spend my time while waiting for the house to be finished. Thanks for looking at my products.

Well, as promised I am back!

Front of House

Side of House

Back of House

It is Saturday and I am just taking it easy today, so I was playing on the internet and I found a way to add my signature to my blog and thought that would be a great idea. Here are the pictures of the house that I promised to upload yesterday. We are waiting for the next phase probably sometime next week. He are some mini-cards that I made but the quality of the cards do not give them justice. I used CTMH products and odds and ends found in my craft box. Enjoy the show!

Well our house is Framed!

Greetings from sunny Arizona. Well it is Friday and it looks like I haven't blogged all week. Sorry about that. We have been shopping for appliances and trying to figure out what type of window treatments we want on our house. We are leaning towards Plantation shutters which are really nice but they are kind of pricey. So, Mike is wondering if he can make em. He probably can as he can make almost anything if he tries.

I have been working on more cards and little projects for the grand kids. Bri, Ally, Emma and Tobey you have something in the works. I need to upload some updated pictures of the house and then I can post them here on the blog.

Nothing else is really new, we are really comfortable here at Donna and Ma's house and they are very gracious to us in letting us basically have the run of the house. So, we are content in where we are at this time. It will be good to get situated in our new place. We are looking at perhaps an August closing and that will be great!

Will be back at ya later when I get my pictures uploaded.

How ya'll doing?

Well, it is two weeks since we have arrived in sunny Sahuarita, AZ. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Today, we are meeting with our builder to go over some house planning stuff. I will send you pictures of Day Three after this post. Hope all you dads had a nice Father's Day. M's mom made him a cake even though he wasn't specifically a father, but I think he would have made a great dad. So we all got a treat!

I went to a new church yesterday Green Valley Baptist Church and it was really strange. I was the new kid on the block and I kept looking around for my grand babies to come and give me my 'sugar kisses' for the week, but I didn't see anyone there that I knew. So, maybe I will be able to plug in there somehow in time and make some new friends, etc.

I went to Tubac on Saturday by myself and M's sister did a color/cut on my hair and I got a facial. Then, I went on an adventure and found a scrapbook store (I was e-x-c-i-t-e-d) and found my way home after being gone for like five hours. It was a blast! So watch out Tucson, you're next!

Well I am off kitchen duty this week. Ma and I are taking turns and I did last week, so now I can have some down time to think about next weeks menus. Any suggestions?

Well here are some new cards I made over the weekend and the latest home picture. Take care and I'll be back.

Hello from Sunny Sahuarita

Greetings family and friends - today is sunny and warm and we are just hanging out for the day. M put in some more applications and he is getting antsy. We will keep on plugging along. Here is the newest picture of our house, the 'sticks' are going up today. These pictures were taken at about 11:45 AM and we will go there later today when the workers are gone. Here is another batch of cards I made yesterday. They are little sentiment cards that look like envelopes. Take care and hope Wisconsin is drying out!

Here is a New Two-Pocket Card

I made this card yesterday and the instructions are from SplitCoastStampers. Hope you like it! I will put a gift card in the front pocket (where the green flourish is) and a little tag with a greeting/wish etc. in the second pocket. I am trying to come up with some more creative gift ideas for family and friends when sending gift cards, etc. The two-sided paper is from Creative Memories.

I am actually sitting in a coffee shop in Tubac, AZ, waiting for my sister-in-law who had an appointment. When she is done and comes to fetch me, we are going to go to some shops and maybe have lunch. It is 'our day' and M is spending the day with his ma. Sounds like fun to me.
Here is a picture of the concrete poured at the house. The 'sticks', as the builders say, have arrived at the house (the wood for the house).

Brianna, these are for you!

Hope these come through for you and Ally. Love, Grandma Lynn

Here are some New Cards I made . . .

My friend Marcy wanted to see some cards and I was not able to send them on my yahoo account, so here you go . . . if there is any you like, you can click on them to see more detail. I need to work on the quality of my uploads, the cards are prettier in person. Thanks for looking at them! L

What a difference a week makes!

Well last Saturday this time we were racing against a storm in Oklahoma that was wrecking havoc on the city. The sky was black and the lightening was so loud and hard that it struck our motel and our AC was smoking from the hit. Today, we are sitting in AZ and the skies are sunny and bright and there is not a cloud in sight. I cannot believe that we have been here for almost a week now. We are as settled as we will be until our house is done. Here is a picture of how the property looked like when we arrived and later I will send a picture of the property after the concrete was poured (just so you all can see that we are serious about building a new place). The builder said we are probably looking at a closing in August (so we will be here for awhile).

Mike has put in some applications for work and he may have an interview next week with the storage company where we are storing our goods. They possibly have an opening where he would service several of their stores doing maintenance type work and that type of thing, which is right up his ally. So, we shall see what the Lord has in mind.

Otherwise, not much else is new. We are trying to get into a new routine around here. It is sunny and bright when we get up in the morning and the nights have been cool (60ish) and we can keep the windows open at night with no AC and that is nice. I suppose when the heat really gets up there we will have to keep the windows closed but now it is a pleasing change of events for us. Daylight is until about 8:00 or so and that is usually when we do our walking as it has cooled off by then.

I have found some of my stamping stuff and so I was able to work on a few projects this week. Yeah! Mike's sister, Donna, is gone most of the time with work and doing side jobs of watching other people's homes, etc. so, it is just Mike's mom and us holding down the fort. So far so good!

So, I guess I better go get some stuff done. Ma and I will be taking turns cooking the meals around here and next week is my week, so I better go make a list and see what she has in her cupboards so that I can get the supplies that we need.

I miss and love you all, take care and do keep in touch! L

Well finally some down time!

This entry is for my family in New Jersey this week who are gathered to celebrate the marriage of our nephew. I pray that all the various family units are now safely in the homes of the Jersey girls. Boy I am sure going to miss all the fun, but I see now why the Lord didn't want me to commit to travel this week to NJ as I moved to AZ at the very time I would have had to go back east. Isn't it amazing how even before I knew we were making this lifestyle change that the Lord already had it under control. I so often forget that he knows everthing that I need to do and what is important for me to do here and now. Wow, that is just an awesome concept for me to grasp my hands around.

A verse that was very apparent to me especially during our journey down to AZ this past week is what I read in Philippins 4-7 . . . "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

So, although I will miss all the 'sister' time and family moments, know that you are all in my heart and I will be thinking of you all. I would ask that if someone could please mail me a group picture or some family pics of you all so that I can make a page in my album of the event!

Well, I better sign off for now. I am still trying to find some stuff that we have here at Mike's sisters house that I can't seem to locate. Hugs and kisses to you all and thanks for your prayers and support!

Our Goods are in Storage!

Well we did it! Today we emptied our rental truck and all our 'stuff' is now in storage in Green Valley, AZ. I don't think it gets any more final than that. Mike's sister was able to get two young men to help unload the goods and we are so glad that this project is done and our rental truck has been returned to its rightful owner.

We are exhausted. I was tempted to call, Brian, send him a plane ticket, and have him come and help us unload as he is a human dynamo and he and Mike work so well together. In fact, Brian called when we were all done unloading the truck (perfect timing Brian). We have already decided that when we do move into our new home we will definitely hire someone like "Two Men and a Truck" or someone like that to help us get settled. This is way too much work for us old folks!!!!!

Donna treated us to a nice lunch after we returned the truck and that was a fun time. So for the rest of the day, we are not allowing ourselves to do any thinking or any unnecessary brain stuff as our brain cells are on overload. Donna and Mike's mom set up a beautiful room and bathroom for Mike and I and it is our little getaway until our home is done. Speaking of which, we are hoping to see the builder tomorrow and check on things. It looks like the concrete is ready to be poured, but we want to make sure everything is on schedule and maybe get a little insight as to when things will be moving along.

So, as you can see, my e-mail is up and running and Mike has got me hooked into his mom's wireless so I am ready to keep in touch with all my family and friends. Take care and we are definitely enjoying the beautiful, though warm, sunny weather in Sahuarita, AZ.

We Have Arrived!

Well we arrived in Arizona officially at 12:30 PM today (Monday). We are literally exhausted from all the driving but are otherwise doing okay. Tomorrow we have to unload the truck and place the items in storage and then settle in at Mike's sister's house. The weather today is 100 degrees but the humidity is only 3% and it didn't seem that bad at all. I know we will really feel the heat as the days get warmer. It is 6:39 here and the sun is still out and it is a clear day. Maybe I will be able to find my stamping stuff tomorrow when we go unload the truck and that will make me a happy camper.

We will probably get settled in this week, check with the builder and then Mike will most likely look for work. I will not be looking for work at this time, but will probably wait until after we are settled in our new home later this year. I guess I will sign off for now. Take care and will be back in touch soon.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes sent our way. We truly felt the Lord's hand on us as we journed through the mountains and storms that were in our path.
